Look at the ridiculous play-off penalty situation. This league treats midiorce players fouling stars as a purity test. If NHL wants NBA-style visibility let stars be stars in the play-offs. Until then they could be social media perfect and still be where they are IMO.
I enjoyed the article. It makes me wonder if there is any chance of this world becoming a more respectful place than it was when I entered it. I have seen progress on a lot of fronts, but the internet has fuelled a lot of bad behaviour. Disrespect for women seems so widespread and acceptable to many. The NHL may be showing a bit of desperation in resorting to hiring this guy to reach a new demographic.
What’s sad is reading these comments, as a woman, and realizing I wouldn’t be safe in their company. That my life has no meaning to the trash commenting below. That we are still so far from women having any chance at feeling safe from violence when it is so normalized and thought to be a normal part of teenage life instead of a sick sick illness and sign of our lack of humanity. It’s never normal, at any age, for any reason, to casually discuss or joke about violence against women, and certainly not with an aim to profit or make a name for oneself doing it. Never.

People who grew up in the age before social media now have the benefit of throwing shots at kids who’s entire lives have been recorded, because nothing they ever did as a kid was filmed.
My survey was that I was recently in high school/college. It’s not just teenage boys that play it. Spend two seconds looking it up and you’ll se videos of guys and girls playing it. Some times it’s straight guys playing where the options are other guys or straight girls with girls. It’s not that deep.
Inferring that a 19 year old kid is misogynistic for playing a game 95% of teenagers have played is incredibly unprofessional and sad. This game can be played with inanimate objects for crying out loud. Be better, this kid has a life and I guarantee this is most of your reader’s first exposure to him so they’ll just take your word for it.
If you have kids, I hope there aren’t grown men out there complaining about how they acted at 18 to interfere with their ability to work. World needs less self-righteous people like you.
