Co-hosts Ken Campbell and Dylan Waugh welcome the one and only Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada and 32 Thoughts...and we talk Wild-Blues and Guy Lafleur
In 1979 the Penguins broke up 2 Canadian unbeaten streaks and then went to Montreal for a Saturday night game (Hockey Night in Canada). The Canadians sharpened their knives and went out to make a statement at the Penguins expense. Pittsburgh stopped playing when the Canadians were up by 6-0 but the Canadians kept playing like they were tied in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup finals. Well, the Penguins lost 12-0 and the Canadian players were fighting to get the puck with 10 seconds left trying to get the 'lucky' 13th goal. Total domination and the worst loss in Penguin history (believe me there have been a lot of bad losses!!) Your reminiscences of the 70's Canadians brought back the memory of this game and their late 70's dynasty.
