As impressive as Mitch Marner’s 18-game point streak has been, it’s impossible to not acknowledge that the hottest player in the NHL since early in the season has been Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars.
Robertson has been on an 17-game heater himself. His hat trick in a 5-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks Thursday night gave him 20-12-32 totals over that span of games. Marner, who scored an empty-netter in a 3-1 over the San Jose Sharks Wednesday to keep his streak alive, has 7-17-24 totals during his run. Overall, Marner has been held pointless in just two of 25 games this season, while Robertson has failed to record a point in just three of 24.
