Vowing to improve the culture of the game, Hockey Canada used its first opportunity to prove it is serious about change to name an interim board chair who was part of the problem
With literally its first opportunity to effect real change in the wake of the biggest scandal it has faced in its 100-year-plus history, Hockey Canada appointed an interim chair for its board of directors who was part of the group that got the organization into this mess in the first place.
It’s stunning. Mind-boggling, really. When Hockey Canada board chair Michael Brind’Amour announced his resignation over the weekend, the organization had an opportunity to prove that it is indeed prepared to pivot and move in a completely new direction with completely new leadership. Instead, it appointed Andrea Skinner as Brind’Amour’s interim replacement.
