Hockey Canada chair's resignation is a good start
Michael Brind'Amour giving up his volunteer position in the organization was the first of what will almost certainly be a large number of dominos that fall
On the website for the Quebec-based law firm of St-Laurent, Brind’Amour, Lauzon & Gagnon, it bills Michael Brind’Amour to non-profit organizations as, “a guide to solving your governance problems.”
Oh, the irony. Until Saturday morning, Michael Brind’Amour was the chair of Hockey Canada’s board of directors, one of the most powerful men in amateur hockey in this country. He is no longer that because he stepped down from the volunteer position, acknowledging that his term ends in November and that he would not be able to preside over all the changes Hockey Canada has promised with its so-called action plan. “I would not be able to see this renewal through,” Brind’Amour said in a statement, “and have therefore announced my resignation to the Board of Directors.”
